Automation Engineering Technology (AET3) Associate of Applied Science Degree

Location and Advisement:

Program Description:

The Automation Engineering Technology Associate Degree program will prepare students to design, implement, commission, and troubleshoot various automated industrial processes. The program emphasizes math and physical science to lay a foundation for understanding the complex processes and recipes utilized in industry. A strong occupational core encompassing Circuit Analysis, Computer Programming, CAD Design, and Economics prepares students for the more robust material later in the program. Students will learn motor theory and application, PLC and HMI Touchscreen programming, complex industrial instrumentation and loop tuning techniques, instrumentation calibration techniques, and industrial robot programming. At the end of the program students will be able to choose either to do a capstone project or work as an engineering intern for a participating local company. The program will also provide a path for students to enter into a Bachelor's Engineering program at local baccalaureate colleges.
