Graduation
Students are eligible to graduate when the following requirements are met:
- The technical certificate of credit (if required), diploma or associate degree seeking student has earned a high school diploma or a GED;
- The required number of credit hours and courses in the student’s program of study has been satisfactorily completed, and the student has a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0;
- An application for graduation (obtained in the Registrar’s Office or the Georgia Northwestern Technical College website) must be completed and submitted to the registrar no later than the end of the semester prior to the semester of the student’s anticipated graduation;
- Program area exit examination has been completed (if required); and
- At least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation have been earned at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. No more than 75% of the credit hours required for graduation may be earned by transfer of credit, credit by examination, or articulation.
Honor graduate status is awarded as follows:
High Honor Graduate
Cumulative GPA of 4.0
Honor Graduate
Cumulative GPA of 3.5 -3.99
Students who re-enroll in the college after an absence of 12 consecutive months or more and who are seeking a degree, diploma, or certificate must meet the graduation requirements as stated in the GNTC Catalog and/or Student Handbook which is in effect at the time of re-enrollment. Students may meet graduation requirements at the end of each semester.
