LACT 1102 Fundamentals of Breastfeeding
This course introduces the areas of assessment, documentation, patient education, and use of devices. Focus is placed on the breastfeeding mother/baby dyad. Assessment skills addressed include latching, milk transfer, milk supply, and feeding cues. Correct documentation and patient education are discussed with the goal of meeting required standards. Use of devices that aid in breastfeeding are also introduced.
