EMYT 1124 Principles of Emergency Manage
Principles of Emergency Management is intended to provide information that will enable persons entering the emergency management
profession or expanding their roles to work with emergency management issues. The primary purpose of this course is to provide an overview
of the characteristics, functions, and resources of an integrated system and how various emergency management services work together in a
system of resources and capabilities. Emphasis is placed on how this system is applied to all hazards for all government levels, across the
four phases and all functions of emergency management. Specific topics covered include emergency management roles and responsibilities;
the all-hazard emergency management process; and the social, political and economic implications of a disaster.
